About

I had always been drawn to Photography. When I was about 15, I would have "photo days" where we would all match and take photos at my church. Once I had graduated, my family and I moved to Kauai, Hawaii. This move started my love for moving picture and I started my first film on the beaches with my family's canon.

The next year we moved to Texas and I became fully involved with the media at the camp we were working at. I created media for the stage, helped make films for student projects, and youth recaps for thousands of youth.

Finally, coming full circle we came back to New Mexico. Passion for camera work became this new love. I had self taught accompanied by what my dad knew of Photoshop and final cut. But soon after coming back my mom found a film program at UNM that I knew from the start that I wanted to do. Two years into the program and here I am. Making movies in school and owning a photography business on the side.

Through all of this, I have learned that photography to me, is much more than just snapping photos of "cool" or "interesting" things. It is capturing genuine emotion and heart. I have always said that I turned "my passion into my profession", because I honestly feel that photos that show my heart as the emotion of the subject  are the best kind of art I could ever create.

Now, with Raw Photography being my brand for almost 5 years. People have asked me "Why Japanese?" and honestly it's because I was learning the language at the time. I had said since I was little that I want to visit Japan, and I am still in hope! But because the language, country and everything about Japan had been so deep in my heart, I named the company using Japanese haragana.

So, as you look over our work. What we do and what we look for. Just know that this is much more than just money to us. It is capturing once in a lifetime images that you will be able to cherish forever.
